Tim Bruinsma is a corporate and business attorney with extensive experience in international transactions. Tim joined Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P.'s Los Angeles office as a partner in 1990. He has a broad legal practice which emphasizes corporate finance, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and project finance matters. His practice also includes real estate, licensing, distributorships and other commercial transactions, particularly in an international context.
Although his international practice is not limited geographically, Tim has special knowledge and experience in transactions in Russia and other developing countries. He actively participated in representing many prominent Western companies in their first Russian trade and investment transactions, particularly in forming and advising on joint ventures and other types of strategic alliances. In this connection, Tim presented a special report on Russian trade before the California State World Trade Commission and testified on the topic before the U.S. Congress. He was the founder and Chairman of the California-Russia Trade Association, the first such organization in the western United States. He has represented numerous clients in Russian trade matters, including Fortune 500 companies.
Tim has represented such corporations as a premier international toy company, the world's largest cereal company, a major Japanese-American automobile company, the leading wood products and forestry corporation, an international freight and transport company, the world's largest family entertainment corporation and a large Austrian bank.
