Litigation and Dispute Resolution
Chair
Global Litigation
While some firms view litigation as a localized practice, we see it differently. Consisting of over 50 separate integrated practice groups spanning the gamut from admiralty to white collar defense, our Litigation and Dispute Resolution lawyers are at the forefront of an international practice that delivers exceptional value to its clients.
Built on the reputation of such giants of the profession as Leon Jaworski, John Crooker, Sr., Kraft Eidman and Jim Sales, our litigation and dispute resolution practice has been a cornerstone of Fulbright’s growth since 1919. It is against this backdrop of dispute resolution expertise that Fulbright finds itself among the unique number of large firms that try cases.
Roughly half of Fulbright’s lawyers are involved in litigation and dispute resolution, and we have built one of the top-tier international arbitration practices in the world. This includes a significant presence in our London office, which focuses on transnational disputes and international arbitration. The 2006 Chambers Client Report named Fulbright as one of the world’s leading international arbitration firms.
Fulbright’s Annual Litigation Trends Report is another way we deliver value to our clients and those who track the legal landscape. Developed to tap the pulse of general counsel on key issues and trends in the legal world, it is a primary source of information for corporate counsel in industries around the globe. Fulbright’s Fourth Annual Litigation Trends Report is now available for downloading.

Fulbright’s excellence in client service begins by hiring the best and brightest lawyers from the finest law schools and fully integrating them into our litigation practice. We invest considerable time and expertise in an associate litigation training program consisting of both a classroom lecture series and practical, hands-on exercises. In this program, associates actually try cases before mock juries during an intensive one-week trial advocacy session.
New associates also participate in a partner mentorship program that helps define career goals and expectations, while having the opportunity to take part in the Fulbright lawyer loan program, where they can try cases for local and municipal governments in cities where we have domestic offices. Finally, young lawyers have access to periodic internal web seminars covering topics on maintaining client relationships, the technological practice of law, practical tips on how to handle disputes and other key areas of application. It is because of programs like these that Fulbright received the first-ever Client Choice Award from the International Law Office, recognizing our top-notch client service.
Value has been mentioned more than once on this site, because delivery of exceptional value to Fulbright’s clients is paramount to each Fulbright dispute resolution lawyer -– so much so that the litigation practice developed Fulbright’s Litigation Values Statement in 2005. In short, Fulbright is committed to putting its clients first, delivering exceptional value, collaborating with the client for results, and possessing a breadth and depth of trial experience that is not equaled by other firms. We believe the daily application of our values differentiates us in a competitive global dispute resolution market.
