AREAS OF CONCENTRATION
EXPERIENCE
An exceptional legal strategist and negotiator, Linda Addison is skilled at advising clients on how to avoid the courtroom; but when a dispute must be resolved at the courthouse, her peers acknowledge her as the lawyer to handle a "bet-the-company" case.
  • The National Law Journal named Linda one of the "50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in America" in 2007, and one of only 17 women among the "100 Most Influential Lawyers in America" in 2006.
  • The Texas Lawyer named Linda the "Go-To Lawyer" in commercial litigation in its 2007 "Go-To Guide" after conducting its own research and asking hundreds of attorneys "who they would turn to–based on firsthand knowledge–if they needed representation in particular practice areas."
  • In 2007, Chambers USA reported that "[c]lients heap praise on the 'fierce and fabulous' Linda Addison, respected for her 'incredible strategic analysis, thoroughness and practicality' . . . her lateral thinking poses a great threat to the opposition."
  • In 2006, Lawdragon described Linda "as equally skilled at keeping CEO's out of the courtroom as representing them once there."
  • Linda was named one of "America's Top 50  Women Litigators" by the National Law Journal in 2001.
  • Since 2003, Texas Monthly has recognized Linda as a "Texas Super Lawyer."
  • Linda is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law, Who's Who of American Women, and Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business.

The Houston Chronicle recently profiled Linda in its story, "Able to Defy Long Odds."

Linda has more than three decades of experience trying cases in federal and state courts and before arbitration panels.  She is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), and has tried more than 50 cases to judgment as lead counsel.  Linda has tried cases involving patent and trademark infringement, trade secrets, breach of contract, business torts, partnership and joint venture disputes, international disputes, securities, common law and statutory fraud, banking disputes, bankruptcy, and debtor/creditor disputes. She also has first-chaired Markman hearings.

Linda is also an experienced arbitrator and has presided over and represented parties in arbitration proceedings. She is a member of the Panel of Neutrals of the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") and the AAA's Large, Complex Case Panel of Arbitrators, and has presided over domestic as well as international arbitrations. Linda is also a member of the World International Patent Organization (WIPO) Arbitration and Mediation Center's Domain Name Panel. She has argued appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, as well as the appellate courts of Texas, including the Texas Supreme Court, where two cases she won made new law.

Linda advises General Counsel, CEOs, and corporate boards on matters involving litigation, corporate governance and ethics. In the boardroom and the courtroom, her philosophy of early evaluation of risks and corporate exposure consistently produces cost-effective resolution of disputes.

Linda has been a partner since 1984 in Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P., where she serves as a member of the firm's Executive Committee and as the firm's Technology Partner.

Linda is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Federal Circuit, in the Northern, Southern, and Eastern Districts of Texas, in the States of Texas and New York and in Washington, D.C.  In addition, she handles cases throughout the United States by pro hac vice admission.
