Karl G. Dial is a partner in the firm's Litigation Section. He concentrates his practice in the area of complex commercial litigation, including cases involving director and officer liability, securities litigation, legal and accounting malpractice litigation, trade secrets, information technology and intellectual property litigation.
Karl has extensive experience litigating in federal and state court and before arbitration panels, having tried more than 40 cases in state and federal courts and before arbitrators.
Karl is licensed to practice in both Texas and New York. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1984 and has been Board Certified as a Civil Trial Specialist since 1989.
Representative matters include:
- Representation of hundreds of directors and officers in securities class action cases, investor suits, derivative cases and in suits brought by the FDIC or bankruptcy trustees
- Representation in numerous misappropriation of trade secrets and copyright lawsuits.
- Representation of "Big 4" and other accounting firms in numerous malpractice and breach of duty lawsuits and administrative proceedings
- Jury trials involving securities and breach of fiduciary duty claims by shareholders
