Jehan-Philippe Wood joined Fulbright's London office in November 2007. His practice is comprised of a mix of general litigation, arbitration, corporate investigations, insurance litigation and regulatory work. He works within several of the firm's practice areas, including government investigations and enforcement, insurance and financial institutions. He works with the firm's clients in the banking, professional services, insurance and oil and gas industries.

• Representing insurers in a wide range of coverage disputes under financial institutions insurance policies issued to professional firms
• Defending professional firms and financial institutions in a range of financial services related disputes, including before the Financial Ombudsman Service and in litigation
• Defending a professional services firm against claims relating to film finance partnerships
• Defending a Lloyd's syndicate in the first ever Tier 2 Lloyd's of London Arbitration
• Defending a stockbroking firm against a multi-million pound claim made by a former client in connection with the provision by the firm of professional services
• Advising a firm on the settlement of various investigations by the Financial Services Authority, the Jersey Financial Services Commission and the Guernsey Financial Services Commission regarding the firm's activities in the UK and Channel Islands Split Capital Investment Trust sectors
• Representing and advising several firms in connection with the setting up of a Channel Islands adjudication scheme for the resolution of complaints by the firms' customers relating to splits related investments
• Bringing a claim in the Chancery Division of the High Court on behalf of an international hotel business against its mortgage debenture trustees for the withdrawal from a mortgage portfolio of property charged under a trust deed
• Advising a Greek bank on the options available under English law to enforce a payment order obtained in Greece against assets of the defendant located in England
• Advising an international tobacco company on developments in tobacco control legislation in various European countries including the implementation of the Tobacco Control Directive in those countries and restrictions on advertising, promotion and sponsorship in the UK
• Advising an investment bank on issues arising from the loss, misplacement and/or destruction of certain Loan Note Certificates
• Bringing enforcement proceedings in the High Court and the Court of Appeal on behalf of a Saudi Arabian client in relating to a judgment for damages obtained against a defendant found guilty of fraud and liaising with various foreign counsel in relation to similar proceedings taking place before the courts in France, Italy and Switzerland
• Representing a Greek shipping business in a High Court action for the recovery of moneys lent to another Greek shipping business
• Advising a US investment bank on the drafting and effectiveness of force majeure and other contractual provisions in underwriting agreements in the context of an outbreak or escalation of hostilities in the Middle East and elsewhere
• Advising a UK based oil and gas company on the consequences of early termination of a long term oil supply contract
• Advising a UK based oil and gas services company on the consequences of a delay in the provision of equipment and services for drilling operations in the Irish Sea
• Advising a telecommunications and satellite communications company on issues arising out of a joint venture agreement for the provision of segment capacity to its joint venture partner and on various related telecommunications site-sharing agreements
• Advising a UK based internet betting company on transaction processing arrangements with US and German based businesses and a potential dispute between the client and its German and US‑based counterparts in the English and German courts
• On behalf of a Luxembourg based client, assisting in the drafting of a regulatory report for the Luxembourg authorities dealing with allegations (including money laundering) made against the client in a book published in various European countries and assisting in the coordination of defamation actions against the authors and publishers of the book in those countries as well as advising on appropriate steps to prevent publication of the book in the UK
• Advising clients on the drafting of arbitration and jurisdiction agreements and clauses
• Advising clients on a wide range of issues relating to their corporate finance activities, including indemnity claims, breach of warranty claims and claims under Completion Accounts mechanisms
• Advising various clients on a wide range of legal and strategic matters relating to High Court procedure and the application of the Civil Procedure Rules and Court Guides
