Joe Park focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, primarily representing domestic and foreign public and private companies in a variety of industries in class actions, securities litigation and complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts in California and other states as well as in arbitration proceedings. Joe also represents public utilities in Public Utilities Commission proceedings. A member of the firm's Diversity Committee, Joe began his career representing the Internal Revenue Service in Tax and Bankruptcy Courts in the dual capacity of IRS litigation attorney and Special Assistant United States Attorney.

Joe has been leading the firm's Korea Practice development efforts and acts as the primary contact person and liaison for many of the firm's Korea-based clients. Working closely with the firm's lawyers in a variety of practice areas and geographic regions, Joe assists in advising and representing Korean companies in a wide range of industries – including the construction, energy, financial, mining/natural resources, technology, and consumer products sectors – in dealing with U.S. and international issues.

• Defense of major commercial lender and investment bank in a class action and related actions, including a three month jury/bench trial and cross-appeals, arising out of the financing of a subprime mortgage lender and securitization of mortgages
• Defense of truck rental company in consumer class action against claims under the California Unfair Competition Law and Consumer Legal Remedies Act, including trial
• Defense of major Korean consumer products manufacturer in action involving alleged violations of federal and state antitrust laws resulting in voluntary dismissal
• Defense of international bank in multiple federal and state class and individual actions in tax-shelter related litigation
• Defense of beauty care products manufacturer against breach of contract claim, including a jury trial, which rendered a unanimous defense verdict
• Defense of Singapore-based company against breach of contract claims relating to use of trademarks
• Representation of GPS technology company in a variety of matters involving claims for breach of contract and fraud
• Representation of nutritional supplement company in asserting breach of contract and related claims against Asian joint venture partner
• Defense of general partner against claims of breach of contract, fraud, and breach of fiduciary duty in connection with a Guam real estate investment fund
• Defense of self-storage company in consumer class action for fraud and unfair competition
• Defense of public biopharmaceutical company and its officers in securities fraud class action resulting in summary judgment for defendants
• Defense of public internet-based company in shareholder derivative action and related securities class and individual actions arising out of restatement of earnings
• Defense of national airline and bank in class action for fraud and false advertising under California Unfair Competition and False Advertising Laws involving frequent flyer credit card program
• Representation of major commercial lender in breach of contract action involving equipment leases resulting in $1+ million judgment for the lender
• Defense of professional employer organization against misappropriation of trade secrets, tortious interference, and related claims
• Defense of excess D&O insurer against breach of contract and declaratory relief claims
• Defense of insurer in arbitration against claims of fraud and misrepresentation involving provider stop loss excess insurance
• Defense of life insurer in class action involving gap premiums
• Representation of Korean family in complex international conservatorship and related litigation involving choice of law, jurisdiction, and related issues
• Representation of water company in California Public Utilities Commission ratemaking proceeding
