Jeremy Mercer, partner in the Pittsburgh-Southpointe office of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P, concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, focusing on oil and gas advice and litigation. He has extensive experience in the shale and hydraulic fracturing arena, ranging from advice regarding local zoning ordinances, including proposed revisions, to defending multi-plaintiff litigation matters alleging contamination and health effects from drilling operations. Additionally, he has significant experience with rights-of-way and easements and has counseled clients on their obligations relative to government agencies and regulations.

Jeremy's experience also includes real estate, employment, and healthcare litigation, and arbitrations (both international and domestic). He has represented client interests before administrative agencies, including zoning board of adjustment hearing, Township Supervisor meetings, historic review commission hearings, and unemployment hearings. He has wide-ranging experience in state and federal courts, including trials and preliminary injunctions. He also has experience briefing a wide variety of civil actions at all levels of the federal courts and at the trial and appellate levels of the Pennsylvania Courts.

He also has experience with AAA and ICC arbitrations as well as court-specific arbitration programs. Jeremy has been involved in a number of arbitrations, ranging from defending a U.S. subsidiary of a foreign company against multi-million dollar claims under Swiss and Pennsylvania law arising under a distributorship agreement to defending a non-profit entity in an insurance dispute.

In addition to the above, Jeremy also has significant experience managing the discovery phase of litigation and arbitrations, including advising clients on their obligations relative to paper and electronic records.

Jeremy served as law clerk to United States Magistrate Judge Nancy A. Vecchiarelli in the United States District Court, Northern District of Ohio from August 2000 to August 2002. He also served as law clerk to the Franklin County (Ohio) Municipal Court from January 2000 to May 2000.
