Fulbright Named Pro Bono Firm of the Year by American Gateways
For the second year in a row, American Gateways selected Fulbright as the pro bono law firm of the year at its 2012 Access to Justice Awards gala at the Long Center for the Performing Arts. The award was accepted by Fulbright associate Chris Weimer, who was among the nominees for Best Pro Bono Attorney.
Founded in 1987, American Gateways is among the most effective and efficient non-profit providers of immigration legal services in the nation.
Sharing American Gateways' commitment to providing equal access to justice for all people, Fulbright has donated its time and talent to represent immigrants from around the world. Through American Gateway's programs, over one hundred Central Texas attorneys have provided free legal services to immigrants seeking asylum or U-visas under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).
