A former Commissioner and Director of the Divisions of Enforcement and Market Regulation for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. Of Counsel Irving Pollack has consulted for numerous governmental and private institutions, including the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation (World Bank affiliate), the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the National Association of Securities Dealers, the Ontario and Quebec Securities Commissions and Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith, Inc., Edward Jones, and the U.S. Synthetic Fuels Corporation. Irving has rendered expert services for Dow Jones, the New York Stock Exchange, and other organizations. He recently served as a Director of ML Life Insurance Co. of New York and a member of its Audit & Compensation Committee.
As the court-appointed Claims Administrator in the Prudential Securities limited partnership case, Mr. Pollack supervised the distribution of $1 billion to investors. He has also served as special master in a number of federal actions and as independent counsel under various regulatory orders.
He has served as the U.S. representative on the International Committee of Regulatory Authorities and Liquidators of I.O.S. and Related Companies and Investment Funds, comprised of representatives of the governments of the United States, Luxembourg, Canada, and the Provinces of Ontario and Quebec. He was also the chief SEC representative at the Inter American Conference of Securities Commissions and Similar Organizations (now IOSCO) in Venezuela (1975), Argentina (1977), Brazil (1978), and Mexico (1979) and has been a panel moderator in annual IOSCO and other conferences and a guest lecturer at universities and other institutions in the United States and abroad.
