EXPERIENCE

Mark A. Kadzielski is the partner in charge of the firm's Los Angeles health law practice. His practice focuses on the representation of hospitals, medical staffs, managed care enterprises, institutional and individual health care providers throughout the United States in a broad spectrum of matters, including government regulatory investigations, contracting issues, credentialing, peer review, licensing, medical staff bylaws, Joint Commission accreditation and Medicare certification. He has prepared over 200 sets of medical staff bylaws and has handled numerous peer review hearings and appeals in his long career as a health care lawyer.

PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES and MEMBERSHIPS

Mr. Kadzielski is a member of the California Bar, the American Health Lawyers Association and the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys.

In 1995, he was elected to and served a two-year term as a member of the board of directors of the American Academy of Healthcare Attorneys. Prior to that time, Mr. Kadzielski also served as vice chair and chair of the Academy's Medical Staff and Physician Relations Committee. From 1997 to 2001, Mr. Kadzielski served on the board of directors of the American Health Lawyers Association and, in 1997 - 1998, served on that association's first Executive Committee.

Mr. Kadzielski was appointed as an alternate member of the Executive Committee of the National Practitioner Data Bank, which serves as a national clearinghouse for reports on health care practitioners. In 2000 he was elected to a six year term on the national board of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit Honor Society for students and graduates of Jesuit colleges and universities. From 2000 to 2003 he served as the Alpha Sigma Nu treasurer, and from 2003 to 2006 he served as its president..

PROFESSIONAL HONORS

For the past 25 years, on the basis of peer evaluations, Mr. Kadzielski has been selected for inclusion in the Health Care Law Section of The Best Lawyers in America. Annually, from 2004 through 2013, he has been selected by his peers as a "Southern California Super Lawyer" in Health Law. He was also selected based on peer and client evaluations as one of the top California health care lawyers (Band One) by Chambers USA annually from 2005 through 2012. In 2005, he was inducted to the inaugural class of Fellows by the American Health Lawyers Association, as one of only 4 Californians and only 40 attorneys nationwide to receive this honor. Also in 2012, Mr. Kadzielski was named  one of "Southern California's Top Rated Lawyers" by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell.

PUBLICATIONS

Mr. Kadzielski has authored numerous books, articles, and chapters in health care texts, and is a nationwide speaker on a wide range of health-related subjects.
