EXPERIENCE

Greg Wilkes joined Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P. in 2005 as an associate in the Firm's Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditors' Rights Department in the Dallas location. He has experience in out-of-court restructuring and bankruptcy proceedings, bankruptcy litigation, as well as debtor-in-possession financing. He has assisted with the purchase and sale of assets in such industries as telecommunications and agriculture. 

Prior to joining Fulbright Greg served for one year as law clerk for the Honorable Robert L. Jones, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Northern District of Texas.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
  • Obtained summary judgment sitting first chair in nondischargeability action in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia
  • Obtained order granting motion to lift the automatic stay, representing the secured lender in $40 million single asset real estate involuntary bankruptcy in the Southern District of Texas
  • Assistant counsel to secured lender of a telephone, cable and newspaper operator involving over $500 million in debt, and with issues related to foreclosure, involuntary bankruptcy petitions, venue and related party jurisdiction and appointment of a Chapter 11 Trustee
  • Counsel to numerous secured lien holders in single asset real estate bankruptcies in the Southern and Western Districts of Texas
  • Assisted with the representation of Chapter 11 debtor specialty restaurant chain, which ultimately resulted in the successful reorganization of the debtor's business
