Fulbright & Jaworski’s Fourth Annual Litigation Trends Survey revealed that companies today have a new worry straight from the front page – regulation and compliance. Many of the Survey’s comments showed that the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and its tougher requirements for securities filings, has had a huge impact on corporations. And the recent growth in the number of civil and criminal investigations and enforcement actions being undertaken shows no sign of abating.
At Fulbright, we understand how government investigations are conducted, what the "rules of the game" are and how to respond to and defend against government inquiries. We staff a team of accomplished lawyers, including many who have served in significant positions with state and federal investigative and prosecutorial agencies.
Fulbright offers comprehensive legal representation to both individuals and businesses. We routinely assist in-house counsel with internal corporate investigations related to governmental investigations, criminal prosecutions, private litigation or on a stand-alone basis. We also represent corporations and individuals in federal grand jury cases, in defending criminal cases, and in handling related civil lawsuits.
In addition, Fulbright has experience involving state and federal agencies that regulate and discipline professionals, medical associations and regulatory offices, bar associations, the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange, the NASDAQ and other entities investigating possible violations of the laws and regulations that govern their memberships.
