Glenn Jones is a senior counsel in Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P.'s Washington D.C. and New York locations. With more than 16 years of trial experience, Glenn brings a wealth of experience and expertise to Fulbright's active health care and white-collar practices.
Prior to joining Fulbright, Glenn served as Special Assistant Attorney General in the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the New York State Attorney General's office for eight years. In this capacity, he was involved in the investigation and prosecution of complex white-collar crime, including institutional and multi-defendant fraud cases. His matters included the investigation of a hospital's fraudulent part-time clinic billings and false cost report entries that led to a civil settlement and recovery of $76.5 million, as well as the investigation and prosecution of nine individuals and five companies involved in a $70 million nationwide drug diversion and money laundering ring.
Prior to joining the Office of the New York State Attorney General, Glenn was a trial attorney with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission where he investigated and prosecuted fraud, trade practice and other civil enforcement actions under the Commodity Exchange Act. He also worked as an assistant district attorney for the New York County District Attorney's Office where he prosecuted felony narcotics offenses, conducted investigations, negotiated plea agreements, made grand jury presentations and acted as lead counsel through trial.
- Represented a hospital, hospital group, HMO and other health care providers and professionals in grand jury and internal investigations involving the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (HHS-OIG) in matters concerning allegations of obstruction of justice, political corruption, and alleged violations of the Stark and the Anti-kickback Statutes
- Assisted companies making voluntary disclosures to HHS OIG and other government agencies
- Represented energy companies and executives, including a pipeline company, during internal investigations and assisted regulatory matters involving various government agencies including the Department of Transportation, Pipeline Safety and Hazardous Materials Administration (PHMSA)
- Successfully represented an individual in a DOJ grand jury investigation involving a probe into the U.S. Department of Interior, Minerals Management Service, Royalty in Kind program
- Represented an oil services and energy company with offices located worldwide in its internal investigation and in parallel investigations by the DOJ and the Securities Exchange Commission involving the Foreign Corrupt Practice Act (FCPA)
- Counseled financial services, medical device and other companies on FCPA, health care and other criminal enforcement, compliance and due diligence issues
- Successfully represented an individual in a DOJ grand jury investigation involving a probe into possible violations of U.S. Sanctions against North Korea
