Gerry Lowry has been a partner in the Houston office since 1993. Gerry focuses her litigation practice on products liability, medical products and toxic tort matters. Her products liability defense work has covered cases involving medical products including pharmaceuticals, contraceptive devices, anesthetics and latex gloves. She has also defended product liability matters involving chemicals, saws, pumps, valves, motors, ladders, wheels, tires and automobiles. Her toxic tort work has included silica, asbestos and benzene exposure claims.
Since joining the firm in 1984, Gerry has gained extensive trial experience. She has tried approximately fifty cases in venues such as Jefferson County, Nueces County, Matagorda County, Brazoria County and the Southern District of Texas. She serves as an instructor in the firm's litigation training program and has served as a coach of the University of Houston Law School trial advocacy programs.
Some of Gerry's recent significant cases include:
- Representation of a major international pharmaceutical company in the first Baycol case to be tried in the country and winning a complete defense verdict in Corpus Christi, Texas as co-trial counsel.
- Representation of a major national oil and chemical company in a silicosis and asbestosis case involving alleged personal injury and death. The client received a complete defense verdict indicating no liability.
- Representation of a major medical device manufacturer in the first latex glove trial in Texas, one of the first latex cases tried in the country, which she tried in Jefferson County as co-trial counsel.
- Representation of a major pharmaceutical company as co-trial counsel in the first case to be tried on a major national docket.

While attending law school, Gerry was an Associate Editor of the Houston Law Review. She was admitted in 1984 to practice law in Texas. She has since been admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of Texas.
During her career at Fulbright & Jaworski, Gerry has served as a member and as Co-Chair of the Houston Office Employment Committee. She currently serves as firm-wide Chair of Hiring for all offices.
