Douglas Danzig is Chair of Fulbright's Real Estate Practice Group. He joined Fulbright's Real Property Department as a partner in 1996 and practices in the New York office. He began his career at a major Wall Street firm where he represented international clients in complex, multidistrict commercial litigation. He has been able to blend his litigation expertise with his real estate practice to bring a unique perspective to complex real estate transactional and litigated matters.
For over 35 years, Mr. Danzig has advised domestic and international clients in their leasing, acquisition (including joint ventures), disposition and financing of shopping centers, office towers, multi-family housing projects (including condominiums and cooperatives) as well as hotel and hospitality projects. He has also litigated and/or arbitrated loan defaults, foreclosures, construction disputes, brokerage claims and lease disputes in federal and state courts throughout the country and before various alternative dispute resolution organizations such as the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and JAMS.
- Negotiated 25,000 sq. ft. sublease at 1271 Avenue of the Americas
- Negotiated 45,000 sq. ft. supermarket lease on 86th Street in Manhattan
- Advised client with respect to $100M investment in 340 Madison Avenue
- Represented client in fair-market rent arbitration relating to retail store at 74th Street and Broadway
- Represented client in purchase of $22M acquisition of residential triplex apartment
- Advised client in connection with sale and leaseback of $20M townhouse on 70th Street
- Represented client in negotiation of lease for "teleport" space in midtown Manhattan
- Represented board of directors of condominium in action against sponsor relating to construction defects
- Represented art gallery in connection with lease of gallery space in Chelsea

Mr. Danzig was licensed to practice law in New York and in the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Second Circuit in 1975. He was licensed to practice in California in 1980 and in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Central Districts of California and in the U.S. Supreme Court in 1981.
