AREAS OF CONCENTRATION
EXPERIENCE

Chris has over 24 years experience in IP litigation where he focuses on patent litigation. Highlights of Chris' career involve several high profile patent infringement actions. Early in his career, Chris represented an individual inventor against every automobile company in the world in the windshield wiper cases. Since then, he has handled and tried patent actions for a variety of clients including some of the world's largest semiconductor makers, oil companies, metal manufacturers and shoe companies.

In addition to patent cases, he has handled and tried trademark, trade secret, PVPA and IP insurance coverage actions. He has extensive experience in all aspects of IP litigation, including strategy, discovery, motion practice, Markman and injunction hearings, trial, appeal and settlement.

Chris has successfully handled and tried cases held all over the United States including Federal Courts in California, Delaware, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Texas, and Wisconsin. He has successfully argued appeals in the Federal, First, Fifth, Eighth and Ninth Circuits. Chris has also been involved in several ITC actions.

He has handled matters in diverse technical fields including semiconductor products and manufacturing, electronically controlled systems, local area networks, medical imaging (PET), aluminum processing, polymer compositions and processing, and athletic shoe rubber compositions.

Chris started his legal career with Arnold, White & Durkee in 1984 and became a shareholder. AWD, considered one of the best U.S. IP firms, merged with Howrey & Simon where Chris was an equity partner. In June of 2001, he joined Fulbright & Jaworski as a partner.

Chris enjoys all types of sports. He and his wife support Catholic high school education in Austin and Milwaukee. They are also involved in the University of Wisconsin Alumni Association and the University’s Foundation.
